Beef here means cattle kept to a condition you can see: frame, fat cover, walk. Highland grazing and purchased feed are both possible. We will tell you what this herd is on when you ask.
The herd sits beside the avocado orchard. Manure goes back onto that land. Meat animals and milk come from the same keeping.

How we agree cattle
Head count and price are agreed at the farm gate on Magoda Street.

Class and condition
The Tanzania farm-gate market prices cattle by class first: weaner, steer, heifer, cull cow, or bull. Condition � frame, fat cover, walk � decides the next step. Coat colour does not. The animal in front of you is the grade.

Live off the farm
Almost all cattle leave this farm live. Slaughter, dressing, and retail cuts sit with you, a local butcher, or an abattoir. Price is agreed at the gate, by head or by estimated live weight.

Movement and health
Cattle leaving the district travel with a livestock movement permit and, where the office requires it, a veterinary check. That is how stock moves in Tanzania. Ticks and grazing condition are what you read on the animal before the paper is stamped.
